Abstract
THIS chapter presents antiquality factors
of forage crops that affect animal
performance. A summary is given of
some herbage minerals that occur in concentrations
deficient or toxic to animals. Significant
attention is given to organic compounds
that are secondary products (1) of photosynthesis
or (2) of associated organisms that alter
forage quality and reduce animal performance.
