	bibo:abstract "SMALL drop/check structures of various designs in\nthe 28 to 115 L/s (1 to 4 cfs) flow range were installed\nin 1966 with their field performance evaluated in 1969.\nThey were again evaluated in 1984 after 19 years of\nservice. The parameters used to evaluate the structures\nincluded cost, structural integrity, stability, hydraulic\nperformance and ditch erosion control capability. A\nnumerical rating was given in each category. A precast\nconcrete headwall with a rock-lined basin or plunge pool\nwas the most economical and one of the most effective\nstructures; however, special consideration must be given\nto provide sufficient headwall length and cutoff wail\ndepth. Cast-in-place concrete structures were the most\nstable and generally the most costly with variable\nperformances. Based on the study results and\nobservations, conclusions and recommendations were\nmade to improve the design of small drop structures."^^xsd:string;
